We went to a banquet at the restaurant on Saturday evening. The seating was so crowded that we were packed like sardines. I suspect that if the fire marshals came around, the restaurant would have been shut. The food was the greasiest food that I have eaten and we have been eating all varieties of Chinese food for 45 years.. I suspect that all the cooking oil in Chinatown was used. Not one course was tasty. Stay away!

The dim sum here is better than in several top Zagat-rated Chinese restaurants we've tried in Chinatown north of Canal Street. The dim sum was hot and fresh and dispensed from steamcarts with a wider selection of dishes than those we've tried on Mott street. Decor is standard touristy red and gold, and service is geared more for dim sum than for ordering from a menue (we ordered noodles as well). Room was full of Chinese families.

This restaurant has very good dim sum - but not anywhere close to the standards (or price) of Toronto or San Francisco. It beats all the tourist traps of Mott Street but is still a bit of a trap. The ladies push around the carts and tell you what's in them. I ordered clams w/black bean sauce off the menu (my all time favorite dish) but it came out luke warm. But the dim sum was piping hot and fresh. They have all the standards dim sum fare.

I'd heard some good things about this place, but maybe that was for Dim Sum. I went there for dinner and both of our meals were bland. My peach, chicken, and black bean dish was bland, and the peaches tasted canned.
The "beef' my friend ordered was tough and bland as well. I doubt I would give this a second chance for Dim Sum.
I didn't like the fried dumplings either. They may have been fried in tepid oil, so the consistency was a bit off

It was absolute bedlam when we arrived here: crowded, noisy, and very unorganized. Nevertheless, dozens of dim sum carts running by our table provided very tasty food. A good value for the money, if you're willing to contend with the noise, crowds, and haphazard service.
